Located in Arlington SD, the Arlington School District has a long and proud
tradition of producing high quality musicians and
music groups. The band program continues to grow and expand, with over 150 students participating in grades 5-12.
In 2006, Arlington was named one of the "Top 100 Communities for Music Education in the Nation" by the
American Music Conference. The bands continue to take home top honors at local,
regional, and national events continuing the legacy left by bands of the past.

On Wednesday, May 7th, the Arlington High School Concert band traveled up to Milbank for the Region 3 large group contest. The group performed three pieces, earning superior ratings from all three adjudicators.
On April 26th, the Arlington 5th & 6th graders, along with a handful of JH students, were scheduled to perform at the 5th-8th grade solo/ensemble contest at Sioux Valley High School. Unfortunately mother nature had other plans. With the onset of a spring blizzard, the contest was postponed.
Arlington students were unable to make the rescheduled date, but nevertheless, their hard work and preparation of their solos and ensembles is to be commended.
